Dr. Wee Gives a Presentation at the American Society of Retina Specialists National Conference

The American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) is the largest organization of retinal specialists in the world and includes both American and international members. This year, the annual conference was held in San Francisco. Applications for the scientific presentations are peer-reviewed, and accepted presentations are given at the annual conference in front of the ASRS membership. Dr. Wee appreciated the opportunity to present the research performed at Retina Consultants of Hawaii to the members of ASRS.

Dr. Wee Presenting at ASRS 2016

Dr. Wee presented the results of the PEARL2 trial in which high-dose ranibizumab was used to treat active polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy. At Retina Consultants of Hawaii, we attempt to educate the retina community to recognize polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy and to understand the treatment options. This includes publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at retina conferences such as the ASRS annual meeting.

One of the benefits of being active in the retina community is that the physicians at RCH stay abreast of the current treatments and ideas. Retinal research is progressing at an incredible rate, and we wish to bring these ideas back home to Hawaii to help our patients.
