Raymond Wee, MD

raymond1Dr. Wee earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Yale and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude honors.  He received his M.D. from Washington University in Saint Louis where he also received a Masters of Arts degree for his research as a Doris Duke clinical research fellow.  His research was recognized with a presentation at the national meeting for being the most significant among the projects for that year.

Dr. Wee completed his ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard.  He was recognized by the American College of Surgeons as one of the top ten residents nationwide across all surgical specialties in regards to his teaching of other residents.  After his residency, Dr. Wee served as the director of the Ocular Trauma service and as chief resident at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Wee completed his vitreoretinal fellowship at the Barnes Retina Institute at Washington University in Saint Louis where he was selected as Teaching Fellow of the Year.  In addition, Dr. Wee was awarded a Heed fellowship.

Dr. Wee has lectured extensively, including his roles as ophthalmology instructor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services, guest lecturer for the Boston University School of Medicine anatomy course, ophthalmology representative at public safety talks, and instructor at Harvard medical school.

Dr. Wee believes that his teaching experience assists him in providing the best care for his patients.  The best outcomes come from the combination of an educated caregiver and an educated patient.  Through clear explanations, Dr. Wee encourages patients to be active in the care of their eyes.

Dr. Wee is happily married with two wonderful children, a son and a daughter.  He enjoys golf, skiing, and family board game night.
